| Crabtowne Bassmasters: 2008 Season Recap The Crabtowne Bassmasters fished 10 club tournaments in 2008. Roger Shirkey Sr. won six tournaments with victories on the Sassafras, Marshyhope, Pocomoke, Middle River and two on the mighty Potomac. Jim Pitt won on Trap Pond, Denis Schanberger won the Susquehanna, Shawn Jones took the Gunpowder, and Glen Nemecek scored big on Lake Gaston. During 2008, we supported MBFN efforts with Crabtowne members participating in Tournament Trail weigh-ins, working the MBF table at the Fishing Expo, donating to youth programs, and writing articles for the MBF website. Our annual Club banquet was held at Hella’s Restaurant in Millersville. We had a good crowd and very enjoyable time. The Crabtowne Bassmasters 18th annual Team Tournament was held on the Marshyhope in August. It was a successful day. We very much appreciated the support and participation from fellow Federation members. Our membership roster has grown this year and we have enjoyed the addition of some great new members. As the 2008 comes to a close, we’re already planning for the 2009 season. We’ll be tweaking our bylaws, recruiting new members, setting our club tournament schedule, and getting ready for our 2009 Team Tournament. We’ll also be getting together to travel to the various regional fishing shows. We wish all of our fellow fisherman a happy and safe Holiday Season. Let’s go fishing! |
